Make Treasure out of Trash

Make Treasures out of Trash – is a very worthy endeavor for artists of all kinds. Why not take something that people have thrown away and change it into something else that is useful or just pretty? Those little pieces of trash you find along the way or even consciously collect as you use the main products can be converted into a wide variety of useful, fun, and even colorful pieces such as jewelry, keychains, windchimes and more. Bottlecaps for me is great medium to use to create earrings, keychains and even bracelets. I work with bead and wire, clip in a couple of holes in the metal and mix them together to make something for others can enjoy.

Southern Style Wooden Ring Earrings – The design for these earrings came to me in a dream. One of my fellow shop owners at a festival some years ago sold me a bag of wooden rings. Apparently they were really popular with skateboarders sometime before that and he only have a couple dozen left so I purchased them. Since they are all about the same size selling them as rings didn’t goes as far as I would have liked so I drilled holes in the center and made earrings of them. The may even make cute bracelets as well.
