Cannot Wait for Cooler Weather jolenemac88, September 10, 2021 I know most of us here in Florida are so hoping that the weather will cool off sooner rather than later. I cannot wait for cooler weather for a lot of reasons. Not only will that help with the stormy season it will lower the costs of electricity, allow us to go outdoors more often, and even, maybe be able to open our windows. I just love having a nice breeze, the sun out with the windows open and working on my websites, creating videos, and sometimes I can even get some new beads and wire items done. It is so much nicer at the flea market shop when the weather is just a bit cooler too. And I am not popping the circuit breakers with three or four shops running their little ac units. https://swconlinestore.com/product/blue-and-white-ball-beaded-38-inch-eyeglass-employee-badge-lanyard/ With my youngest having a harder time obtaining employment she has been volunteered to learn the business side of creativity. She has taught herself to do tie-dying on shirts and wants to move into lounge pants and dresses in the future. For now, she has people interested in purchasing but she doesn’t have their sizes yet. That is the problem with most retail clothing items you have to be able to purchase stock in all sizes. I purchased the initial ones of S, M, L, XL, and 2X thinking she could experiment and get people interested in her designs. She gave away a couple of them (one to me and another to my mom) and has been showing them in the shop the past couple of weekends. She has people interested but they want the larger sizes so I finally found a wholesaler with 3Xx, 4X, 5X, and 6X 100% cotton t-shirts in white at a very reasonable cost. She will have to charge about $10 to $15 more for those shirts to make up the difference in price for the tees, more dye, and longer time to create. https://swconlinestore.com/product/light-sage-and-variegated-greens-crocheted-dragon-scales-8×6-tote-with-black-lining/ Now she has to learn about taking good photographs, creating nice mocks-up, and uploading those along with the descriptions to our online store. Running a small business ain’t for sissies. These days you have to be able to showcase your work on your website and social media pages in order to get more exposure and gain more customers. She is lucky that I have all that in place already and already have a following. Her tees are so bright with cool patterns they deserve to be showcased and purchased by people who will love them as much as my mom and I do. I cannot wait until she can produce the Skater Skirts! The Business of Crafting Which Social Media To You Use January 15, 2024April 4, 2024 Which social media accounts do you use to let people know about your handmade items? That is if you even sell you crafts either online or just at crafts fairs anywhere. These days if you want people to buy your products you have to have at least a couple of different social media accounts. If for no other reason than to share what you are creating and where you will be selling in the future. It is very tough these days to sell handcrafted products but in some ways, it is getting a little easier.
