Day Dreaming A New Shop jolenemac88, February 23, 2021September 8, 2021 During my long rides back and forth on the weekends to my tiny shop inside the Chiefland Farmers Flea Market, I keep dreaming about creating my very own Tiny House Shop to put in my front yard. Right now my mom and I are living with my brother in the deep woods of Suwannee County Florida. Which is great for the quiet but not so great with the internet or having customers come to see our merchandise. So we will need to have a place on a hard road somewhere close to a town but not too close. It would be so sweet to have a wooden shed with a porch to paint and covert over to a Tiny Shop to store all my crafts for sale as well as give me an area for all my supplies. Kind of like a studio/shop thing located right on our property. Working at home but a place for customers to come and shop. https://swconlinestore.com/product/brown-and-olive-green-sparkle-4×10-inch-full-front-sleeve-dragon-scales-fingerless-gloves/ Our Shop Update Right now, all that we have is located in the Chiefland, Florida shop which is about 60 miles from where we are staying. When I do sell something I have to go to Chiefland to get it to mail out. That is the main reason we only ship out on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and require a 5 day lead time on any purchases. So, with this pandemic, I am incurring more expenses with having to pay for gas and keep my customers apprised of all the postal delays as well. Not a very good selling point right now. We offer colorful, unique, and well-made handcrafted items that will last a lifetime (in some cases) and beyond. We have been unable to increase our prices over the last couple of years to try and keep the customers we do have and entice new ones to give us a try. Sadly, we are going to have to raise them before the summer months and pray that all this bad weather decreases and the post office can hire more people to deliver. So check out our online store soon – https://swconlinestore.com or perhaps our Handmade Amazon store https://www.amazon.com/handmade/Southern-Women-Crafts Our New campaign Although it would be really sweet to find an old traveler trailer, gut it and renovate it into a shop on wheels, it is just not feasible right now. We are regrouping and free-thinking of new ways to keep our craft business going and encourage more people as well. Lets’s face it, it took the stupid Covid-19 for the world to be stuck at home, and now that it has been almost a year since it started we are having to be VERY creative to get our small businesses back on track. So, if you have found our articles on this site useful in any way and you would like to see us continue with our research into the crafting business and what works so you get paid; we ask that you donate what you can. Our fundraising campaign will be used to purchase a wooden shed of some kind, convert it over to a shop/studio and start producing informative videos as well as great articles to help you start or keep a crafting business going in the future. Summertime Great For Crafting June 6, 2017September 5, 2017 Summertime is great for crafting! Not only is it too hot to do much of anything outdoors here in Florida we do have air conditioning. So, rather than worry about not making any money by not going to festivals and shows because it is just too darn hot to sit outside under a white canopy tent hoping people will come by and make your day. Instead, I prefer to sit on my comfortable bed with my laptop and post articles to my blogs, upload any products that haven’t already been added to my online stores and make new products to have ready for the Fall season. Northeast Florida Craft Vendors March 14, 2017September 5, 2017 Northeast Florida Craft Vendors really need more opportunities to sell their handcrafted wares. South and Central Florida really gets all the good events with tons of people attending until all the snow birds start heading back up north. It would be great if more of the state parks would start holding events all year long.
