Creating sales during holidays and specific dates of the year has been a time-honored tradition. Our First Day of Spring Sale actually began on Sunday (yesterday) as we had a client ask for the 20% discount on her order that she must have gotten from one of our earlier videos we posted somewhere. But being a good small business person I do not begrudge any new client a discount on their first order. That inspired me to go ahead and create a coupon code and add it to the online store.
Coupon Code: UP8ZQES2

Getting Ready for Spring and Early Summer Craft Festivals
Creating special sales for spring and the holidays over the next several weeks is only natural. And, if you haven’t already then you need to get a jump on any of those craft fairs and festivals that are happening in your area over the next couple of months. Of course, the industrious crafter would have all of his/her festival gear cleaned and ready to be set up by now. You should have a fresh supply of business cards (Or something that has your website, social media and other contact information on it to give away). You commercial grade tent all cleaned and ready, the weights to hold it down and any screens or walls you might want to add to help keep the bugs out. You will also need your displays (Tables, boxes, or whatever you have decided to use to get those products up to eye level to attract your buyers). Do not forget your credit card processing gadget and have one of those portable battery charging units to help keep your smartphone and/or laptop charged during the day. Tell us some suggestions that you do to get ready for the upcoming spring and early summer festivals and selling your crafts? Comment Below!
Still Looking to Create or Purchase a “Shop on Wheels”
One of my dreams I have had for a long time now is to purchase or create a boutique on wheels from either a vintage trailer, cargo trailer or even one of the cargo trucks. There are lots of examples of people converting these enclosed spaces into something that can display their handcrafted items in a fun and unique manner as well as being able to, essentially, park and open your doors to begin your business day. It is still a lot cheaper than purchasing a brick-n-mortar shop and it gives you a chance to meet more people, have a different view each time and even enjoy some of the festivities happening around you. Once, I even commissioned a local welder her to create a trailer that was 8’x 10″ and had a removable hitch so that I could build my little shop on top of it and be able to fit into most of the 10×10 slots that you get at these types of events without having to pay extra. You could even include a window AC and a solar powered generator to run it with. Sadly, Covid-19 hit and all my hopes and money dried up like a raisin.
For those lucky enough to have one of these “Shops on Wheels” we hope you will follow us on our social media pages, post some pictures and videos of the events you participate in and we would be happy to Like, Share and Comment on them for you. Just let us know in the comments below and we will get started right away.
