North Florida Crafters Opportunity jolenemac88, August 16, 2017August 23, 2017 North Florida Crafters in and around the Columbia County Florida area may want to get in touch with a new business called ThingsCrafty! We made an appointment with them through a posting on the Lake City Buy/Sell Facebook group page. It seems they are opening up a Sticks-n-Bricks store on Hwy 441 in Lake City, Florida more commonly known in the area as Main Blvd. Their new-to-them building is located across the street from the local Post Office. They will be offering craft classes, craft parties and Gift Shop where you can purchase local craft artists items. The Gift Shop has three options and associated prices depending on how involved you would like to be with this new business. The ad they placed was for those who make their own soaps and lotions but they were happy to see what my mom and I make. CLICK HERE for a PDF copy of their information sheet that you can read over. Basically, they are looking for enthusiastic local craft vendors who may be willing to teach a class of theirs, would like to use their facility to host your friends and family for a special party where creating some kind of craft is involved and place some of your items for sale in their gift shop. If you join the co-op you get a higher percentage of any sales of your items, have preferential use of the facility when booking your own classes or parties and participate in any arts and crafts showcases and trunk shows they are sponsoring. Not bad for only $30 a quarter. They are still in the process of decorating the inside of the building, painting, setting up shelving, getting their outside signs made and interviewing local crafts people. For those interested in adding your own handmade items on consignment you will need to contact them for an interview as well. Bring some of your items along so that they can see, feel and possibly smell your lovely products. The owners stated that they hoped to be open by September 1, 2017, and will be contacting all the artists who responded prior to or right after the opening to let you know they would like to feature your products. The company has their own inventory system so you will just need to use a plain tag on your items with your initials and the price you charge for each one. Consignees are paid once a month at the beginning of the following month by check. This seems to be a unique and special opportunity for this area of North Florida and we hope to be participating with them over the next several months. We may even teach a class or two as well. Of course, we will be posting those events here on our website. We hope you will support these talented ladies by liking and following them on their social media pages and looking over their website. Our Craft Projects Making Beaded Dragonflies August 16, 2022August 16, 2022 Several months ago my granddaughter was watching some movies on my computer and came across a beaded dragonfly tutorial I had downloaded from You-Tube. She created a couple and insisted that I do it with her. Well, ever since I have been making them into earrings, put them on bottle caps, broach/pins, barrettes and I even may make them into key chain charms.
